Senior Developer – ServiceNow Discovery

Location: Richmond, VA or McLean, VA or Plano TX

Job Type: C2C Only – Long-Term Contract

Role Overview:

  • As a Senior Developer – ServiceNow Discovery, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing ServiceNow Discovery solutions to enhance IT asset visibility and improve CMDB accuracy. You will work closely with IT teams to optimize ITOM workflows, automate processes, and ensure seamless integration with enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement ServiceNow Discovery solutions, including MID Server setup, Probes, Sensors, and Patterns.
  • Serve as a ServiceNow Discovery subject matter expert, troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Optimize agentless and agent-based discovery for comprehensive IT asset visibility.
  • Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to integrate Discovery with CMDB, ITOM, and other ServiceNow modules.
  • Develop and maintain scripts using JavaScript, XML, and APIs to extend platform functionality.
  • Implement best practices in ServiceNow Discovery and CMDB data integrity.
  • Work independently to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in ServiceNow development and implementation.
  • Expertise in ServiceNow Discovery (Agentless & Agent-based).
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure (networks, servers, storage, and applications).
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, XML, and APIs for platform development and integration.
  • Experience with CMDB, ITOM, and related ServiceNow modules.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Application Developer (CAD).
  • Certified Implementation Specialist – Discovery (CIS-Discovery).
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
